It was eight months ago that Microsoft launched its revamped mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7 Overall, the platform was well received by users and the technical press, when they rented the interface fresh, bold and easy to use, integration of thoughtful features and enhanced performance. But it also had its fair share of shortcomings and pitfalls. This fall, Microsoft will release its first major update for Windows Mobile, will bring over 500 new features to the operating system. Known until now as the Mango, the update will officially go for the name of Windows Mobile 7.5, which focuses on improving three key areas: communications, and Internet applications. We had a brief look at some of the improvements at an event seen at the end of May, but recently, Microsoft has given us a chance to deepen the mango with a technical overview of the OS. Because the software was not final, we could not test everything, but below you will find our hands on impressions of some of the most important traits you can expect from Windows Phone 7.5.
